Keeping vendors out of AD

We often prattle on about the benefits of having your directory perform authorization, either via NPS for AD or Freeradius for LDAP.  Certainly, for employees where HR can manage users in AD, that makes a lot of sense. Single step disablement.   A recent customer signed on with the opposite needs.  They have non-employees who access their infrastructure remotely via Bomgar and they do not want those users in their directory.

Patch your WiKID Servers

We are releasing a patch to the WIKID server.   Users that were manually validated using the WiKIDAdmin interface may be 'deleted' from the server three years after their registration.  The users can be un-deleted.   Users added via the API (e.g, via example.jsp or ADRegister.jsp) are not affected.

Yet but another nail in SMS's coffin

We have a number of issues with using SMS for authentication - insecurity of the carriers being a big one.  At the end of the day, you have to use cryptography and use it well.
