Dual-source approach, popular in tight economic time, drives new feature requests

The WiKID Strong Authentication System is a dual-source two-factor authentication system that combines strong asymmetric encryption with Blackberries, cell phones, Palms, Windows Mobile devices as well as Windows, Linux and Apple PCs to create a secure, highly-scalable and flexible one-time password system. Pricing for the Enterprise version starts at only $240 per year for 10 users. The Community version is released under the GPL and has had over 28,500 downloads.

New features in this release are based on customer and community feedback for simpler user management, improved initial validation and increased ability to segment users by group or token type.

New Version 3.3 Features

  • Group support: Users can be grouped and groups can be associated with Return Attributes for Radius

  • Pre-Registration: Now users can be added manually by an administrator, programmatically by a trusted application or they can be pre-registered with the WiKID server for added convenience.

  • Blackberry PIN validation: The latest WiKID Software token for the Blackberry uploads a the Blackberry PIN to the WiKID server to aid in user validation.

  • Locked PC token: The latest WiKID Software token for Windows, Mac and Linux will “lock” itself to a PC and comes with a variable PIN-pad to thwart keystroke loggers.

  • Locked WiKID Domains: Users associated with a locked WiKID domain must use a Locked PC Token.

  • Wireless only domains: Users associated with a wireless-only domain must use a wireless token (J2ME, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, etc.)

  • Unparalleled scalability: The WiKID Strong Authentication software appliance ISO can process 43 authentication transactions per second.

  • Command line Token support: The unlocked token now can be accessed from the command line, a key benefit for systems administrators.
