wikid-strong-authentication-3-0-rc1-rpms-released

Just a quick note about our 3.0 RC1 RPM release: Please test it!. We should have a new ISO and VMWare image by Monday or Tuesday of next week.

This release is big for us. While are not a great deal of new features in this release, it is a major upgrade. (Here's the list of what's new. There is much new under the hood. Also, we have made major upgrades in our infrastructure: moving from CVS to SVN, moving to a new build system and using Revisor for building the appliance ISOs to name a few.

The biggest change for 3.0 is our de-appliance-ification of WiKID. When we first started WiKID oh so long ago, there weren't any two-factor authentication appliances. We were the first. However, we relied on the fact that it was an appliance and did a lot of things that would make a systems administrator very angry if an application did them. When we released the open source version of WiKID, we started the process of going to a straight RPM.

I'm very excited about the progress we've made and what's to come in the future. Thanks to all our customers and beta-testers that have helped us get here!
