drive-neutral-the-economics-of-carbon-neutrality

My wife and I have 3 kids and thus we have a big car. We bought the Suburban 5 years ago and the guilt has been building up. I'm a big believer in driving cars forever, so what do do?

Economics to the rescue. We bought our guilt away via http://www.driveneutral.org/, a non-profit that aggregates individual's payments and buys pollution credits on the Chicago Climate Exchange.
By purchasing these credits you are reducing the supply available to industry, helping to increase their price on the exchange, and stimulating the market in pollution reduction.
The price was surprisingly low to me. Perhaps that's because gas prices have risen so much. It could also be that the market is not as efficient as it will be - so buy now before prices go up.

I don't think there is an application here for information security. Pollution is a known quantity that can be measured. Vulnerabilities are seemingly endless.
